Brooklyn Half Marathon: Route, Road Closures, and Essential Information

 More than 20,000 runners are gearing up to traverse the streets of Brooklyn on Sunday, April 28, for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon.


"NYCRUNS is thrilled to welcome over 20,000 participants who will be embracing the energy of Brooklyn this Sunday," said Steve Lastoe, founder and CEO of NYCRUNS, in a press release. "It's always incredible to witness our home borough shining brightly on such a grand scale. We're prepared for a day filled with enjoyment, safety, and inspiration."


The Brooklyn Half Marathon Route

The journey for the Brooklyn Half Marathon will kick off in North Brooklyn, weaving beneath the iconic Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn bridges, with highlights including Dumbo and downtown Brooklyn. The course will then proceed down Flatbush Avenue, along Eastern Parkway, and culminate in Prospect Park.


Runners will find water stations, Lemon Lime Nuun Endurance, and restrooms available every one to two miles along the route, as detailed on the half marathon's website.

Post-Race Meeting Points

Access to the finish line area will be restricted, prompting event organizers to advise families and runners to reunite outside of Prospect Park. However, a designated reunion area will be available in the Nethermead.


Prohibited items include weapons, fireworks, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, and blankets.
